1. Deep baritone: Amitabh Bachchan is known for his deep baritone and although he was rejected by All India Radio as an RJ (Radio Jockey), this turned out to be a blessing for Bollywood. He's been a narrator for many films and also a playback singer besides being the impeccable actor that he is.

2. Legendary actor: With a career spanning four decades, Amitabh Bachchan has worked with the best directors and actors in the industry. He has award-winning performances to his credit and his films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Namak Haraam, Deewar, Anand, Abhimaan, Sharaabi and Sholay are iconic. His hits like Agneepath and Don have been remade but nothing matches the originals! He is a superstar in the true sense of the word.

3. Back with a bang: After a successful phase, Amitabh Bachchan had a rough patch of sorts. But not the one to wallow in sorrow, Amitabh Bachchan chose to storm TV with his game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, which was an immediate success. The show that began in 2000, reinstated him as the superstar that he is.

4. Host with the most: His debut with Kaun Banega Crorepati as TV host brought him back to prominence. Now in its 8th season, no host has been as popular or loved by the audience as much as AB senior.
5. Fighter: While shooting for the fight sequence with Puneet Issar for Coolie in 1982, he had a near fatal accident. His condition was termed critical and the actor was in a coma before bouncing back. Amitabh considers this day as the one on which he was re-born and hence celebrates August 2.

6. Professional: Amitabh Bachchan is the one you can set the time on your watch by. While he is always punctual, one example of his professionalism is when he was shooting for Sharaabi. The actor burnt his hands on the sets of the film, but continued to shoot by putting his hand in his coat pocket which went on to become a fashion statement in itself!

7. Beyond regionalism: Amitabh Bachchan is promoting tourism for three states in India including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Kerala. This goes on to prove that though he belongs to Allahabad, he does not differentiate between different states and cultures. This is a sign of a genuine leader.
8. Dislikes term Bollywood: Big B dislikes the term Bollywood. In an interview given to a known media house, he went on to say that the word Bollywood sounded like an abuse and was demeaning to the Hindi film industry.
